A stack of books and a notebook sit on top of a desk. Behind the desk is a green chalkboard.

Hi, hello. It's me. You probably have not been wondering where I've been (and I bet Adele's ex probably wasn't either). The answer is simple: I have been in the classroom, teaching and learning, though that classroom did change from one school to another. When I made my last blog post about the end to my year-and-a-half-long job search, I thought I might finally have the time and mental space to write and post. My inner teacher-self is laughing at that thought. Teaching is, at its core, a very busy, hands-on, mentally-draining profession; I love it, but the reality was that I would never get around to writing a blog post except once in a blue moon.

Apparently, now must be a blue moon. I have lists from the past 3 years of topics I want to write on; stories I want to tell. Perhaps I will get to them this year. In fact, this summer as I continue to work on my graduate degree, I am taking a course on digital cultural rhetoric and the pedagogy surrounding the way we use technology and digital tools in the English classroom. Part of the course includes composing blog responses to articles we read. So, perhaps, I will leave the class back in the practice of blogging, ready to continue my writing throughout the upcoming school year. Perhaps.
