As the new year began, I found myself sitting down with pen and paper thinking over my resolutions for 2021. Honestly, I hate resolutions; they have always seemed a bit too nebulous to me. Rather, I prefer goals.

I've had the goal of starting this style-focused section of my blog for well over a year. 2021 is the year I'm finally doing it.

It took me this long in part because I've always had trouble starting to write about style. I've had trouble because, well, I don't really consider myself a "fashion expert," and I also don't like it when fashion blogs or Instagrams are filled with "buy this" posts -- there is already enough materialism and consumerism around in American culture. So, then, what on Earth can I talk about? The two things I am an expert in: dressing as a borderline petite woman (I'm 5'4"), and style for a teacher (I teach English and French).

So, if you are a teacher (or an aspiring one) in search of outfit inspo, and/or are 5'4" and under, you've found your corner! Welcome to Teach en Vogue.
